Bah. As you might notice (unless you’re viewing your friends page for this post) I made my journal red. I like red. That’s been my color for the past several months.

I’m going to start shopping for a computer this weekend. I don’t think I can last any longer without a fully functional machine at home. So in addition to the computer itself, I want a scanner and a big monitor. I think it’s time to splurge a little. And DSL. And my own domain name again.

So I voted this morning. Have you?

What’s there to say? I’m in pain. My back is killing me. I was barely mobile yesterday. It doesn’t hurt as much today, but I can still feel ouch. In the end, it’s all right since I got the new Pavement reissue of Slanted and Enchanted. I can’t wait until they do a reissue of Crooked Rain Crooked Rain. I *heart* that album.

I did the best possible thing for Halloween last night: I fell asleep. I came to work dressed up as Lou Reed, but naturally no one around here know who Lou Reed or the Velvet Underground are. Harumph.

It looks like Arial Sharon’s government in Israel is collapsing in front of our eyes. Being against war and terrorism, I am overjoyed with this development. I don’t know how such a criminal was given so much power, but it’s a relief that his reign is almost over. Hopefully the next prime minister will bring back the reforms Barak had started. Maybe, they’ll have another Rabin or Peres.

I just finished reading Catch 22. What a fucking great book. Now it’s on to Lipstick Traces by Greil Marcus and hopefully Dead Souls by Gogol. Hopefully.

Is It Just Me…

…or is everything going crazy right now? The shootings in Arizona, the hostage situation in Moscow, Sen. Wellstone’s death, the sniper in Washington DC, Arab on Radar breaking up. I guess the second law of thermodynamics is working up a storm now.

I love the end of daylight savings time for the simple fact that I get an extra hour of sleep. It is much joyful. The only bad part is waking up when the sun is shining through my window getting paranoid that I am incredibly late for work. But who cares, right? We get an extra hour of sleep!!!!!!!

I currently feel like a baboon. Blah. 😛

I’m in love with the PBS promo of the string quartet + piano that plays fervently ending with the cellist smashing his instrument a la Jimi Hendrix. I would love to go to a show like that.

Anyhow, it’s an indoor night for me. Went out to bars with urbanemonkey and Carrie last night. Parlour was a disappointing due to lack of people. Then we headed over to Akbar, but it was too crowded. We ended up being really tired and went home. Bleah.

I need to do some writing and painting badly. Maybe I’ll work on my dormant zine.

This cannot be good. He was one of the more outspoken figures against the war in Iraq.
