I’m trying to survey the writing I have done since junior high. It is upsetting that I’m missing a journal from the summer between sophomore and junior year and a journal from 1999-6/2000. I’m convinced that the former is gone forever, but the latter I KNOW is somewhere. This is so annoying. Ugh.

Friday night, I was out with and company. Her friend from school, Kaui, came along, too. A very nice person, but when she got drunker and drunker, I became the whipping boy. I just have to say that my nipples are still tender and I have slight scraping on my knuckles from when she tackled me to the ground and dry-humped me. Quite flattering, but still annoying nonetheless. But hell. She was piss drunk; it’s forgivable.

Saturday night, I was out in Silverlake to see a friend (actually more of a casual aquaintance) perform. I compared it to a male incarnation of Kylie Minogue. Spent the night outside on the patio smoking and talking with Marco about everything and nothing (what I’m best at). Did the obligatory Denny’s run at 3am. Not just any Denny’s but the one on Sunset and Gower. I’m convinced that’s the best Denny’s ever. Saw Sean, a boy I had a crush on in SB, talked to him for a minute and kissed. Nice and sweet.

I’m convinced Sunday doesn’t exist so here I am today. Boo! My friend Raf is going to be in town this week, so I’m going to play!!! Woo hoo!

Argh!!!!!

My coworkers are bastards.

Wednesday evening, as I was getting ready to go home, I went to the water cooler to get some hot water for my tea. As I was heading back to my cubicle, unbeknownst to me my coworker Lourdes was hiding in my cubicle. As I entered, she jumped out and said, “Boo!” I jumped out of my skin, scalding hot water splashing on my hand. I’m muttering every curse word at her when I realize the auditors from the bank are still in the conference room. Meanwhile she’s laughing up a storm, uncaring over my well being (I know I’m being melodramatic, but so what?). Jump to yesterday: Lourdes tells everyone in the office what happened. I had to contend with everyone telling me, “Boo” and then laughing.

The story is not over yet. I walk in to my cubicle this morning to find “Boo!!!!” in size 72 font taped all over the walls, computer, printers, cabinets, everywhere! I am dealing with one of the conspirators. I’m giving her the “You’re either with me or against me” spiel. I figure if Shrub can get away with it, so can I.

On Yahoo, they have a Gap ad that says, “You might be in a Gap ad”. I sure as hell hope not.

Last night, I went to Midnight Special Books with . I bought Massage by Henry Flesh, Dream Boy by Jim Grimsley, and the new issue of Punk Planet. I really needed some queer fiction to get loss in.

Oh! And the new issue of Punk Planet has a story on the selling-out of the gay community. Pretty nice article, although I read it quickly before going to sleep at 1am last night. I’ll be more thorough later.

It’s Friday!!! *does Friday dance*

Last night, M___ called me. She’s one of my high school friends whom I didn’t contact after I moved to Santa Barbara (by choice). I didn’t feel like playing a part of her melodramatic games. All of a sudden, about a year ago, she contacted me out of nowhere. So I was amiable, not chummy like before.

So she called me bemoaning the regretable actions she has done in the past. It seems the guilt she’s racked up since in becoming unbearable. I didn’t feel like getting too involved so I was succinct. She felt better by the end of the conversation, so I just went on.

It makes me uncomfortable to be in this position. I spent so much time with her back in the day, and to some extent she turned on me in the final days. I don’t know. I guess there’s some baggage involved. *shrugs*

On a lighter note, it’s payday!!!! *does payday dance*

    So tired.

Watched the final part of the Jimmy Carter documentary last night. I have so much admiration for him for all of the things he has done after his presidency. I just hope his foundation continues the pursuit of human rights and freedom worldwide after his retirement. *insert more words*

Statement: I *heart* Trader Joes. I just wish there was a natural foods market co-op nearby.

  • After watching The Simpsons last night, it has been confirmed: Elvis Costello IS the man!
  • The Jimmy Carter documentary is on tonight on PBS. Of course they had to schedule it during the Raiders vs. Broncos game.
  • Frida was a damned good movie. Sorry. I’m still reeling from it.
  • I still haven’t picked up The Liars album. Bad me!
  • I like lists!

Saturday night, I finally watched Frida. After watching all of the previews, I thought it was going to be lovey-dovey nonsense for two hours. I’m so glad I was wrong. I just have to say that if this movie doesn’t win the Oscar, there is no justice in the world.

We just got a storm come through from Thursday night to Saturday. The annoying part of it was that it wasn’t real rain. Just misting for the most part with periods of sprinkling. No oomph, just blah. For once, I would like to see it come down hardcore. Hopefully we get some more rain this season.

I love how when one drop of rain falls from the sky, all the news broadcasts here in So Cal go to “Storm Watch”. It is the hugest story in the news, and they devote about half of their broadcast to it. Anyhow, they had reporters go to Santa Barbara since it is usually the first place to get all of the rain in the viewing area. Looking at the pictures makes me miss the place a whole lot. I’m just picturing going to Edomasa and eating sushi all night long. Shit. I should probably get my ass up there pretty soon.
