It’s been hell this week at work. The fact that I’m surviving with part of my sanity in tact is quite an accomplishment. So this is why I need to go out for a drink tonight. Any takers?

Nutters!
Nuts. The Antony & the Johnsons show on the 22nd is sold out. I will try to get tickets for The Kills and She Wants Revenge at the El Rey the next night. Unfortunately Steve Aoki will be DJing the show.
I really need a drink tonight. Work has been hell this week. Any takers?
Milemarker!!!!
Better late than never. According to Milemarker.Org:
Exciting News
Aug 31, 2005
NEW RECORD
“Ominosity” is the name of the 5th Milemarker full-length. It is done, recorded, sequenced, mastered, and off at the pressing plant. Now comes the anticipation: will they manage to screw it up somehow? Will the covers be printed wrong? Will the whole thing be saturated in extra flanger while we’re not in the room? It’s out of our hands at this point. For better or worse, look for it to be out October 25th on Eyeball records.NEW/OLD LINE UP
Playing on “Ominosity” are old stalwarts Dave Laney and Al Burian (yawn), and welcomed back is original keyboardist/drummer Ben Davis (formerly of Sleepytime Trio, also plays in Bats and Mice, plus check out his two solo records). Drummer Noah Leger has been playing with MM since 2001, so he is the old new drummer. Tony Lazzara is the new new drummer. Making all kinds of other extraneous noises are Tim Remis (Sweet Cobra, Challenger), Monika Bukowska, Tara Grayson, Greg Norman, Pete Wagner….ON TOUR
Record release show is at the Empty Bottle in Chicago, IL, on Oct 22. A tour of the US will follow, from Oct. 25-Dec. 8. Dates will be posted when they are confirmed.
Me excited!!!!!
Are You Ready for Some Football?
Apparently I’m not.
Who would’ve thought that homeless New Orleans would beat Carolina? SF, who went 2-14 last year, would beat the run and gun of St Louis? That equally hapless Miami would beat Denver?
I guess prognosticating is not my thing. 5/16 this week. Quelle sad.
Regardless, it’s football season and as such my blood gets pumping every Sunday morning to Monday evening. Hooray football! And more importantly, HOORAY GAMBLING!!!!!
Wow. I haven’t been this bad in picking football games in like forever. I only got 4 right tonight. In addition to getting Thursday’s game right, I am 5/15. Crap!
I went to the Dodger’s game with a few people on Friday. The section we were sitting in was by far the absolute WORST and most BORING crowd I’ve been in. And the two Padre’s fans I heckled left by the fifth inning. That made things less fun. At least I didn’t have to pay $10 for parking.
Labor Day Short
Absolutely boring weekend with the exception of a couple of highlights (dinner with Madd’d mom and BBQ w/ urbanemonkey and others). Watched some college football Saturday, and some tennis Sunday and Monday. And I only masturbated twice the whole weekend. Zzzzzzzzzzz-fest. I promise to get interesting once I get some cock in me.
Other Noos
Rather than dwell on the ongoing disaster that is Katrina and the absolute incompetence of Bush adminstration’s response to it, here is some other news.
Both the Assembly and State Senate here in California for us homos to marry. Regardless of your position of marriage (I, for one, am completely opposed to marriage), this is an extraordinary move to get us homos equal rights. NOT the patronizing, condescending separate but equal “civil unions” which are a complete bureaucratic nightmare.
This is FULL ACCESS to the same rights the dirty breeders have. Take that Fundies!
I’ve been watching the live feeds from a local New Orleans station. They are actually giving out information rather than the sensationalized shit that the fuckheads in the national media are dispensing. I broke down. The video is so intense. And the stories…. Some of them are just absolutely amazing.
