Just finished Lady Chatterly’s Lover. A lovely piece of literature if I do say so myself. I think I might engage myself with Thomas Hardy’s Tess of D’Ubervilles or Flaubert’s Madame Bovary. I’m still bent on reading more of the classics (heh. I said “bent”). But no pork chops for me tonight. Pure laziness beat me. “Is anybody out there?”

I can’t believe this day isn’t over yet!!! When I get home, I must go running despite this lingering cough I have from my cold last week. Ooooh. And I am also in the mood to cook pork chops tonight. So much to do….

Another weekend down the hole.

I tend to get this way during the summer: completely disillusioned. Bah! Maybe I’ll make something happen this summer. Anyhow, it seems time to make another trek to Santa Barbara soon. I feel that urge inside me. Going. Going…..

Well the weekend wasn’t a complete waste. I did my laundry this morning, and I’m in the final stretch of Lady Chatterly’s Lover. Did some painting. Practiced Chopin’s Ballade #1 and started on his Ballad #2. I’m a partee anima(l).

A Night of Tedium

jimmy

July 20, 2002

That’s the main problem with LA. Once you are here for a while, things start to get tedious. Perhaps it’s because of the people I know here. Perhaps the aura of the city brings out the anti-socialite in me.

Last night, I was out with Madelaine (whose birthday is today!!!!). We ended up going to the Santa Monica Promenade. A huge cloud hangs over that place especially since Midnight Special is being run out of business. We ate at Johnny Rockets since my cash supply is low at the moment (stupid car!!!). Afterwards, it was the same conversation as ever:

Madelaine: Let’s go to __(insert store here)__
Moi: Nah. (gets out cigarette and starts puffing away)

And so the routine goes. Can someone please let me out of my misery?

Anyhow, I’m going to do some painting, writing and finish reading Lady Chatterly’s Lover. What a wonderful book!

It’s Friday! It’s Friday!!!!!

Like I’ve said before, I’m a Grade A sucker. I had to fill in for two of my coworkers this morning. Right when I got into the office, the second law of thermodynamics went haywire; everything went FUBAR. Grrrrr….

I’ve started Lady Chatterly’s Lover by D.H. Lawrence. I’ve always like Lawrence, but I’ve never been able to finish any of his novels. So I am very determined to finish this one.

That’s it. I might go to see Deerhoof tonight if the stars align correctly. We’ll see.

God bless the miracle of drugs. I love drugs. They make me feel uncongested and happy.

Er…. ok. lotusblossom and I are trying to come up with 19h century authors that I like. The only one I can come up with is Mark Twain. HELP!!!!!!!!!!

So my sickness has reached it climax today. I want someone desperately to rip out my sinuses and lungs. I don’t want them anymore. Perhaps I should sell them on EBay.
