What’s there to say? I’m in pain. My back is killing me. I was barely mobile yesterday. It doesn’t hurt as much today, but I can still feel ouch. In the end, it’s all right since I got the new Pavement reissue of Slanted and Enchanted. I can’t wait until they do a reissue of Crooked Rain Crooked Rain. I *heart* that album.

It looks like Arial Sharon’s government in Israel is collapsing in front of our eyes. Being against war and terrorism, I am overjoyed with this development. I don’t know how such a criminal was given so much power, but it’s a relief that his reign is almost over. Hopefully the next prime minister will bring back the reforms Barak had started. Maybe, they’ll have another Rabin or Peres.
I just finished reading Catch 22. What a fucking great book. Now it’s on to Lipstick Traces by Greil Marcus and hopefully Dead Souls by Gogol. Hopefully.
Is It Just Me…
…or is everything going crazy right now? The shootings in Arizona, the hostage situation in Moscow, Sen. Wellstone’s death, the sniper in Washington DC, Arab on Radar breaking up. I guess the second law of thermodynamics is working up a storm now.
I love the end of daylight savings time for the simple fact that I get an extra hour of sleep. It is much joyful. The only bad part is waking up when the sun is shining through my window getting paranoid that I am incredibly late for work. But who cares, right? We get an extra hour of sleep!!!!!!!
I currently feel like a baboon. Blah. 😛
I’m in love with the PBS promo of the string quartet + piano that plays fervently ending with the cellist smashing his instrument a la Jimi Hendrix. I would love to go to a show like that.
Anyhow, it’s an indoor night for me. Went out to bars with urbanemonkey and Carrie last night. Parlour was a disappointing due to lack of people. Then we headed over to Akbar, but it was too crowded. We ended up being really tired and went home. Bleah.
I need to do some writing and painting badly. Maybe I’ll work on my dormant zine.
Just to make things worse…
Arab on Radar broke up. What will be next?
Sen. Wellstone’s Plane Crashed
This cannot be good. He was one of the more outspoken figures against the war in Iraq.
I’m realizing I keep forgetting my age. I don’t know whether I’m 23 or 24. I just did the math and came to the conclusion that I’m 23.
Anyhow, there was a documentary on parking in the LA area on the PBS station last night. I must say that it was some funny stuff. Highlight: a lady finds a parking space by a fire hydrant. From her trunk, she has a plastic garbage can with the bottom cut out, places it around the hydrant and puts the lid on top. That had me rolling in laughter. The parking situation is completely absurd here, like you’re trapped in a Kafka novel. Make sure you have a lawyer with you when you park in LA to discern what the signs say. Every meter maid will say to read the sign. Ask her if she could understand those signs. Hah.
It’s Friday!!!! *does Friday dance*
