Me Nerd
A true sign I do crossword puzzles way too much:
I’m watching Jeopardy! and the category for Final Jeopardy is Presidential Candidates. The clue read, “The last presidential candidate to lose to the same person twice.” My first knee-jerk response is Adlai E. Stevenson. None of the contestants got it correct, and after a while I was wondering whether this was a trickier question than it seemed to be. Much to my surprise I got it correct.
How does this relate to crosswords? About every week, the following clues pertaining to Stevenson pop up: “1950s political name: Abbr.”; “DDE’s nemesis”. Hmmmm.
