Since this month is Thanksgiving, I thought I would jot down several things I’m thankful for about this weekend. It is by no means comprehensive or anything.

Wow. I must say that Midnight Special is even better than before. The space they have is much better, and the lighting is brighter. Granted they just reopened last night so a lot of things are still in boxes. But holy shit did it make me feel good. I don’t know what it is about that place that makes me feel fuzzy inside, but goddamn I feel better knowing that it’s there again.

Oh. And my_bootay and I saw Fyvush Finkel at dinner tonight. How fucking rad is that?!

I’m so over being here at work right now. Right now, I just want to go
home and do nothing really. Perhaps I’ll schlep my ass over to Midnight
Special so I can look at some nice books. Me so broke because of the
rent, car payment and car insurance triple whammy last week. I might
just buy a couple of magazines, but books are off limits until payday
next Thursday. Ugh.

The upside next week is that my boss is going to be in NY next week
promoting our stock. Aside from the occasional call from him, things
should be relatively smooth. Hopefully.

This weekend though, I want to go to The Smell tomorrow night to see the
Mae Shi. I just hope
that I can find it successfully this time around. Other than that, I’ll
just bum around at home smoking cigarettes, writing for NaNoWriMo and
perhaps making a mix CD. Woo!

Last night, I went with lotusblossum, evildork and his brother to see The Matrix: Revolutions on an IMAX screen. nkoan and cephyn were right – it’s about as subtle as porn (yes I just combined both of your thoughts). But it was a whole lot of fun. There were explosions and bad special effects and Aliens-like machiney things. It was worth the sleep deprivation.

The most annoying thing about this trilogy is the flock of people who are on this quest to find some deeper meaning in the movies. Over and over, all I heard was this solipsistic bullshit that any 15-year old could spout. Blah blah blah we can never know if this world is real blah blah blah. I know about Plato and his allegory of the cave business, but haven’t we progressed in philosophy over the last 2000 years? I don’t know. It just irks me to no end. I usually don’t say a word when Matrix-talk comes up, but enough already. The last movie in the series is over and done with; let’s leave it at that.

Anyhow, I got home at around 3:45am and am barely surviving after 2 ½ hours of sleep. Can someone please shoot me in the head? Merci beaucoup!

It’s always difficult to wake up in the morning when it is freezing. Ok.
Not freezing, but pretty damned cold for Southern California in early
November. It’s scary since our cold season doesn’t usually hit until
after Thanksgiving – I’m afraid of what that could bode for us then.

So who caught last night’s 24? I’m still praying for a scene of Bauer
vomiting his face off from his heroin withdrawal. But other than that,
the episode itself wasn’t too eventful. Bah.

AMSTERDAM (Reuters) – A five-year-old Dutch girl handed out “sweets”
to classmates that turned out to be ecstasy, cocaine and heroin pills,
police said on Monday.

Large quantities of soft drugs and hard drugs were found in the car of
the eldest brother. The brothers were in custody, but their mother was
set free after questioning.

That’s pretty fucked up.

It took me a good 30 minutes to decide to come to work rather than call
in sick. All I wanted was another hour of sleep to get myself all
rested. Oh well. So far things are too bad here at work. All of the top
brass save my boss (the CFO) are in Las Vegas for a huge convention for
automotive manufacturers. It’s rather calm here which is nice. I don’t
have anyone down my throat like I have had the last month or so.

It’s the 4th day of the month, and I have yet to start my NaNoWriMo project.
I will schlep my ass over to Coffee Cartel in Redondo Beach after work
and get some shit done. Hopefully by tonight I’ll have something worth
posting. *shrugs*

Did anyone catch the Patriot’s cunning win over the Broncos last night?
Wow.

It is cold and rainy today. I’m used to the weatherpeople here in So Cal exaggerating rainfall amounts. Basically if they say we’re going to have rain showers, it’s most likely off-an-on drizzle. If they say it’s significant rainfall, then it’s really a couple of showers.

For some reason though, they have been understating the rain lately. Friday they said we were going to have showers. So why was there a torrential downpour as I was driving to SB that night? And last night they said we should expect some showers totalling about a couple hundredths of an inch. Then how come it’s pouring down right now? Grrrrrr.

Oh well, this weekend in SB was fun even though I was nursing a hangover for most of the time. I got to play with skick‘s and malkiyah‘s kitties (even though I’m allergic to cats), and had a gloriously unproductive weekend. It was so unproductive I didn’t even take any pictures. Ha on you guys!

Um. I really need to get my ass in gear for NaNoWriMo. I did absolutely no writing this weekend, so I have to make up for lost time. Garg. Ploop. And I just want to sleep tonight!

Uy. I’m over at skick‘s and malkiyah‘s apartment trying to get rid of this hangover. I drank too much too fast, so here I am with a headache and generally lethargic. But it was fun to party last night and shit.

I’m still trying to figure out what to do tonight. I really want a greasy pizza right now. Mmmmm. Grease.
