Well it looks like Editor & Publisher magazine has a leaked copy of the Pulitzer Prize nominees. Usually the list of nominees aren’t released until after they announce the winners. If this list is anywhere near as accurate, it looks like the LA Times is kicking ass. Take that NY Times!

Anyhow, my devious plan of going to bed early so I get enough sleep and not be bitchy the next day did work. With all of the shit I dealt with this morning I don’t feel like murdering people. I have energy and am in a good mood. It’s funny because I think I’m freaking people out around here.

Class tonight then go home to bed.

The first heatwave of the year is upon us here in Southern California. Since this makes it perfect driving weather at night, I drove out to Marina del Rey for some coffee at the Cow’s End. The feeling of driving 70 mph down the 405 with the windows down is something that I can’t describe.

However my_bootay ran the LA Marathon today, and according to her it was hell. I’m just glad she made it home to take a four-hour bath. I’m sure that is much better than running through the polluted streets of LA.

Since I’m constantly tired and bitchy, I’m resolved to go to sleep by 10:30 everyday this week. I know I’ve already failed tonight, but I did take a nap earlier. That evens things out, right? Ok. Whatever. G’night.

I forgot how much I like Drive Like Jehu. Mmmmm rawk.

This morning I got into a shouting match with my mom. She wanted to take my aunt and I to brunch which is well and good. However some of you know the criminal ways of my mother. Whenever she goes to a buffet, she takes a large gift bag with her. In that gift bag she puts three two-gallon Ziploc freezer bags to put the food in.

I was in no mood to deal with her having to look around and be shifty while dumping the contents of her plate into the Ziploc bags. So I tell her, “I’ll go but you’re not taking any bags with you.” She replies, “Whatever.” As we are leaving the apartment she makes a quick grab for the bag. My aunt makes a quick interception and throws the bag over to me. Crisis averted. But we had to sit throughout the entire meal with my mom mumbling, “I wish I could take this home.”

Naturally the lack of Ziploc bags did not deter my mom. She managed to take a dozen cookies, two fistfuls of gummy worms, a slice of apple pie and a dozen brownies and wrap them in a napkin and stuffed them in her purse. I guess where there’s a will, there’s a way.

Anyhow, I think in a bit I will go and buy some frames and get some coffee. Goddamn I have food coma. Zzzzzzz.

I think this one will particularly interest urbanemonkey. It looks like Brandon Manumaleuna, Narbonne High Alum and current St Louis Ram tight end, is making a deal. Sweet.

Oh and I gots me a cell phone. After years of stubbornly refusing to get one, I broke down. I am now evil. That’s it.

I swear they’re going to send me to my grave at an early age. They’re having one of their “90s Flashback Weekend” thingees, and I swear I will be listening to it all weekend. While I was at lunch, they played Garbage’s “#1 Crush” and Faith No More’s “Epic” back-to-back. Uy.

I am absolutely tired and can’t wait to get out of here. One more hour and counting. Ugh.

PS. Poor Martha. I guess evil doesn’t always triumph.

What a fucking stressful week it has been. I decided yesterday that for therapeutic reasons I would chop off all of my hair and dye it jet black. I know people are all like, “why jet black?” Well because I have lots of white hairs that needed to go away. So there! I have no white hair! WOOOOO!

BTW, since I don’t have cable I can only watch the Daily Show with Jon Stewart via the clips they post on Comedy Central’s webpage. Goddamn that’s a funny show.

Bah. It’s not looking to be a good day. I didn’t get a good night’s rest for reasons only a couple of people and I know. I’ll just say that I’m feeling a bit poopy the last couple of days. I need to get release my inner whore this weekend. Or something like that.

I’m going to chop off all of my hair tonight and maybe dye it jet black. I need to buy more hair products too. This Garnier Fructis styling gel I’m using is absolute shit.
