Most people will go about playing practical jokes on friends, coworkers, enemies, et al for the sake of this day. For me, I really wish today is a practical joke.

You see in the world of accounting the first of the month means it is time to close the previous month. Especially for me, make sure the general ledger accounts balance with what is stated, make sure all purchases have been vouchered, yadda yadda yadda. Oh but April 1st is even more special.

It is our fiscal year end. Yes. Not only do I have to close March’s books, I have to close the fiscal year 2004’s books. So I will be a pressure cooker of stress for the next several weeks trying to get everything perfect.

It doesn’t end there. We have our auditors coming by at the beginning of May to make sure everything we did was kosher. The way I see it, I will be a mess until about August. Really.

And it doesn’t magically go away by saying “April Fools!!!!!!”

Yup. I think I found the winner.

I’m looking through the LA Weekly for play listings, and I’m finding
quite a few. Mommie Queerest looks the campiest of them all.
The Empire Builders looks the most intriguing, mostly since it is
performed in the city garage on 4th street in Santa Monica. Hmm. So many
choices. klikitak, let me know what sounds intriguing to
you. Shit. I should probably check OC Weekly to see what’s up in the LBC
also. Nuts.

I really want to go see Xiu Xiu at the Smell on Friday. I missed them
the last time around, but it sounded like they sucked. From what I hear,
this won’t be “Xiu Xiu Unplugged”. Eh. It’s only $5. Big deal.

I’m feeling like a play this weekend. Anyone have any suggestions?

When I got in to work this morning at 7:30am, I was bombarded with emails and voicemails. I was on the phone non-stop until 10. Uy VEY! Fortunately that day at Glen Ivy did wonders for my psyche. I was able to be really calm about the situation(s) and not stress out like I’m used to doing. But really, it got my heart beat pumped.

As to by NCAA basketball brackets, I jumped up to 4th place after this weekend. The executive secretary and I look primed to win the whole thing, although I am favored by most people. This is great cuz I started in last place when the tourney began.

Um Norman wants to start a band, but we need a drummer.

Last night, I saw Eternal Sunshine. I was amazed to like Jim Carrey’s character. There were a couple of points where he did his over-the-top schtick, but it wasn’t annoying.

I am so relaxed after yesterday. I slept until noon today and have been feeling loose. It’s been so long since I’ve felt this way. The only bad thing is I got a little sunburn on my arms and chest. It’s not too bad, but I am very pink. Ha!

So tonight I’m going to see Mae Shi and Baby’s Breath at the Silverlake Lounge. It should be fun.

I just got back from Glen Ivy with klikitak.That was tons of fun. I got to play in the mud, in the jacuzzi, in the swimming pool, and snore on a beach chair. Fun fun fun.

The amazing part was that I had to wake up at 8:30 this morning. After everything I drank (4 glasses of Sangria, 3 gin & tonics and 1/2 of an apple martini), I was amazed I woke up without a hangover.

Now I am going to take a nap and then hopefully go see Eternal Sunshine. Rock!

Ok. I got really drunk. I had about 3 or 4 glasses of sangria at Lalas. I think my_bootay counted it at 5 glasses. I have no fucking idea. I lost count after the second one. *shrugs* So I ended up having Bombay Sapphire and tonic at the Abbey and Motherlode. Don’t ask me how many. Enough to make me really drunk by 1:00.

Anyhow, here are pictures.

The drinking has begun. I’ve just mixed myself a rum and coke which is a bit strong. It’s great since I’m starting to groom myself. I just hope I don’t completely fuck up or anything. It would be funny if I went to dinner filled with razor knicks.
