Night of the Living Dead
No Canters for us tonight. We were outright pitiful tonight. Most of the night, klikitak, ohmeohmy, Drew and I were sitting on one of the couches at the Smell. We were all exhausted, and it took so much effort to walk outside to smoke a cigarette. Horrible I tell you! Oh well. It was nice to get out of the house and talk to people.
And because of klikitak, I created a community. Yes. I’ve been on this thing for about 3 years now, and this is the first community.
Somehow she brought up Joey Lawrence, and after that point it was all over. So go there an join and post anything that would make you say “whoa”. But it must be said in that lobotomized twat-faced expression that he does it. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, I’ll perform it for you the next time I see you.
Ok. I’m going to bed.
Death and Cinema
Cinespia is once again screening movies at the Hollywood Forever cemetary. It looks like they’re going to do Chinatown this Saturday. Unfortunately I won’t be able to make it becuz of fundage issues. Perhaps some screening soon.
Although it’s Friday, it sure as hell doesn’t feel like one. Lethargy is overtaking me, and I have so much work to do. I should probably take a couple of days off in June once things here at work calm down a little. Hopefully.
So here’s the plan:
Ha!
Oh and travvvv, sorry that message wasn’t weird enough. That’s what happens when I get tired: no creativity. Bloob.
Last night I finished How Soon Is Never? by Marc Spitz (the guy who co-authored We Got the Neutron Bomb: The Untold Story of LA Punk, not the swimmer). I’ve seen the book around when I would go book shopping and been interested. But my internal voice of reason told me to be wary of it.
So when I went to the library last week and saw it lying there, I picked it up and checked it out. It’s part coming-of-age story, part detox, part metaphysical journey, part rock journalistic mumbo-jumbo which all comes together in this neon green package. Amazingly enough it works.
I find the hope of reuniting the Smiths to be really funny (although lovipug said something along those same lines to me today). Blah blah. Just read it.
During lunch, I read a great interview with Mark Leyner done in the mid-90s. He is a great writer and feralboy can attest to that.
I’m completely falling asleep now. I think I’ll crawl underneath my desk and take a nap. G’night.
I want to take my pants off. I bought these gray work pants from Urban Outfitters a couple of weeks ago, and they are too big. I guess I have shrunk since the last time I bought pants since it’s too loose on my waist which means it drags on the floor. They’ve become an irritation and so fascistic. PANTS = FASCISM!!!!
Work Bullshit
The supervisor of the maintenance department, let’s call him Ninny, pisses me off. He has an idea of how I should handle my department. Too bad it’s way off.
My job as supervisor of payables is to make sure we do NOT pay people for as long as possible. He thinks that it is my job to make sure things get paid on time. To boot, since some of the suppliers utterly fail to move me to paying them they go to him. He then exaggerates the situation to me trying to manipulate me to paying them.
No. It doesn’t work that way. It’s actually quite annoying. They’ve gone to complain about me to the CFO (my direct boss) to no avail. Even Ninny’s supervisor told my boss that I was incompetent (I still have the email my boss forwarded to me). Both the CFO and CEO understand what I do and are supportive of my actions.
It doesn’t make this situation any less aggravating though.
I mean I like my job for the most part. I get paid decently for having no college degree (although it’s not stopping me from getting my degree). But sometimes I need the authority to be able to make people go away. Erase them from existence just a little while.
It reminds me of this really bad tv sit-com back in the late 80s about a girl who could stop time my touching the tips of her index fingers together. I need that power. Really.
Edit: Let’s not even mention that they’ve got me doing G/L accounting on top of everything.
Ugh. Class was class. I was dead tired from my lack of sleep Sunday night and brisk work day yesterday. By the end of it, my bed sounded like a good option. So no Manifolds yesterday. I promise I’ll be there next week since I don’t foresee doing anything this weekend.
But I did listen to the Lakers game on the radio. I actually prefer listening to the game rather than watching it. It puts me in a more active role since I have to form a picture of the game in my head. Better than being a passive slob watching tv. But go Lakers! They finally showed up after halftime and won convincingly (as opposed to Saturday night).
And congratulations to mcgee and the Mae Shi. Their new full length which they just finished recording, Terror Bird, will be released by 5RC Records this summer. They are among the best bands in LA and create music that makes my booty shake. Now that they’re big shit they won’t have time for us “little” people. Hehhehee.
Oh. And I’m listening to Television and you’re not. Hah!
Waste Your Time Please
Look!!!! It’s a half-naked prince! He looks soooooo gay.
Drop it all down a notch or two, put your leather bag away and go urban commando, rail against the corporate HOMO-genization of gay culture and boycott shows like Queer Eye. Watch wrestling instead, it’s a whole lot gayer and sexier anyway. —Jockohomo
