This morning is interesting. I couldn’t wake up for some reason. I’m on coffee cup #2, and nothing seems to be happening. Ugh.
Right now I’m on a Xiu Xiu kick. I listened to Knife Play, A Promise and Fabulous Muscles to fall asleep last night. Maybe that’s why I’m so fucking tired.
Well today wasn’t nearly as action packed as yesterday. I started out doing laundry, watching the Minnesota-Sacramento game, going to N’s house and hanging out with his roomy most of the evening. It’s interesting to hear a former marine’s take on all of the shit going on.
That’s it. I’m going to sleep. And klikitak, I hope you aren’t as tore up as I think you are right now. <:(
I had an exciting day yesterday. feralboy called me up in the afternoon to update me on Crackbaby. Crackbaby jumped his box and pooed in Michael’s sister’s room and peed twice by Michael’s door. Lovely.
Anyhow since Michael was to be out and about I went over to his place to take care of our baby. I invited lotusblossom over, and we played with Crackbaby, bought him toys and took a nap with him. Of course there are more pictures which I’m refusing to put behind a cut.
I swear he is the cutest thing I’ve ever seen. He has this thing for people’s noses. He will lick it like a coke addict.
Anyhow, Michael came back so we played for a little bit then went out to Rodeo’s Grill in Echo Park. A plate of chicken enchiladas, rice and beans for $3.99 is the bomb! Enough said.
The Smell
It was 10:00 when we got out of the restaurant so I was already late to the Smell to see Manifolds and Mae Shi. Parking was especially a bitch last night; I spent half an hour looking for parking. I’m walking in the alleyway approaching the Smell and I hear the bassline for “Disco Kabala”, the Mae Shi’s last song. So I missed most of Mae Shi and all of Manifolds who apparently played a killer set. *sighs*
Then who decides to show up? Yes. It’s fire marshal season. *rolls eyes* Because really. An all-ages venue where no alcohol is served is infinitely more dangerous than the bar down the street. One of the fire marshals calls the LAPD for back up because hipsters by their general nature are aggresive beasts. Yeah. The tears the hipsters will shed will cause all of LA to flood.
Fortunately they came after Mae Shi’s set. They played in the “foyer”, and it could have been considered a fire hazard. In the end, everything checked out and the Smell avoided a shut down. I figured it was all my fault since I’m a flaming homo and all. (I know. Bad joke.)
The good thing is that I bought the following tee:
Anyhow, Glass Candy played. I liked a couple of songs they did but aren’t crazy about them. ohmeohmy warned me that they had played a bad show in the Bay Area a couple of nights ago. They were all right. I wasn’t too much into the music, and the Sunset Strip look they had going for them didn’t help at all. At one point someone from the audience came up and danced with them.
Did you know you were going to shoot
off the top of a four year old girl’s head
And look across her car-seat down into her skull
And see into her throat and did you know
that her dad would say to you,
“Please sir, can I take her body home?”
Oh wait, you totally did know… that that would happen
Cuz you’re a jock who was too stupid and too greedy
And too unmotivated to do anything else but still be
The biggest and still do what other people tell you to do
You did it to still be a winner
You shot your grenade launcher into peoples windows and
Into the doors of peoples houses but you wanted to shoot it into someone
Just to watch them get blown up. why should I care if
you get killed?
I’m still trying to figure out how the military is fighting for the Americans.
Several years ago, meeschievous and I were riding in her car with Cooper, the adorable but stupid golden retriever her and stacichikami‘s roommate owned at the time. Meesch said that I am very motherly based on the way I treated Cooper. Hmmmm.
So last night as feralboy and I were headed out to Silverlake from his crib, he caught sight of a puppy chilling underneath my car. He is the most adorable thing ever! He looks like a lab/chihuahua mutt from these pictures. I don’t know. I’m not going to put these behind a cut because this puppy is adorable.
Instead of going to the bar, we spent time with the little puppy. We showed the puppy episodes of Metrosexuality, let him try to eat our faces and cuddled. Crackbaby (we named him that) fell asleep on my belly. I was just about in tears when I left the apartment.
Anyhow, when I got home I was feeling very motherly. It felt like I had something ripped out of me. Then I realized I was fucking drunk so I fell asleep.
Edit: The guy holding Crackbaby in the first couple of pictures was this really nice and cute guy. But he reminded me too much of a person from SB whose name I shall not repeat for fear he will appear in my life once again. (I really hope said person doesn’t read my LJ. I read his.)
My sinuses feel like they’re going to implode. I have a headache, and I just want to go home and lie down for a while. I’m convinced I’m allergic to work. Really though. For the past week, I’ve been having sneezing fits in the morning. My allergies don’t usually attack me. Ugh. I don’t know. In about an hour it will all go away. Bye bye!
Once I get over this headache, I’m going to head on over to Urban Outfitters and buy myself a belt. This whole size transition thing is fucking annoying even though it’s the good transition. *shrugs*
Most people have probably heard about that miracle shot Derek Fisher made with 0.4 seconds remaining in the game to put the Lakers up 3 games to 2 over the Spurs. That was fucking amazing. I have never seen anything like that in my life.
It’s funny because when the playoffs began, I honestly thought the Lakers were going to lose this round to the Spurs. When they started this series 0-2, I was convinced that was going to happen. Being up 3-2 now has sparked a change in my sentiment. The Lakers can conceivably win this series. Don’t get me wrong. I’m a huge Lakers fan, but I tend to be a realist. Ask me a month ago if the Lakers would be in this position, I would have said no. My how one game can change things.

Sorry. I had to get the sports thing out of my system. I really do need to find more sports fags to talk about games and shit like that.
I got this hankering yesterday of going to Magic Mountain some time soon. I want to do it during the weekday because the place will be less packed. Anyone interested?????? I know you people who work have sick days. USE ONE!!!!!!!
It’s nice to know that John Waters is still too dirty for Hollywood. It looks like his new movie “A Dirty Shame” is being tagged with the NC-17 rating. I usually don’t pay attention to that sort of thing when I see a movie. Shit. It surprised me when the article said that “The Dreamers” was also NC-17. I had no idea.
Only one thing is certain about this weekend: I am going to see Mae Shi and Manifolds @ the Smell on Saturday. Everything else is up in the air. Anyone want to do something?
Lately I’ve been doing a whole bunch of nothing really. Nothing really to spice up my journal. I guess I need to get working on that.
