Simple Question
Who referred me to the Cultzero website? Or is it one of those things where they recruited me?

It’s been a while, but bite me. Hah!
Work has been busy. True I’ve been staying late (even until 8 Monday night). But it’s worth it. After successfully transitioning accounting software, I’m now working on work flow issues within the department. All in all, to work at a place where I, the manager, have free reign over my department makes staying until 6 most nights worthwhile. Oh. And the money helps too. 🙂
Other than that, nothing much else has been going on in my life. Roomie and I have been trying to clean up after the power outage this past weekend. What with the cats being irritated from being cooped up in the house, throwing up and peeing in the kitchen, it’s been quite a mess to deal with. But things seem to be back in order.
Feh. Nothing much. I’m just looking forward to the football games this weekend.
– My electricity being back on at home.
– Only having an 8 mile commute.
– Having a friend like lotusblossom who will let me pack shit into her freezer.
– Having a job where people will leave me the hell alone to manage my department and get shit done.
So tonight I’m going to brave the rain and do my laundry. I really hope everyone stays away from the laundromat so I can have free reign over the place. And there’s tons of cleaning to do in the house. The cats have been vomiting all over the place. And I know Nesta killed a mouse which is somewhere in my room. Ugh.
The electricity is still out at my house despite 3 crews working on it since yesterday morning. I have since moved the meat in my freezer over to lotusblossom‘s. I really hope we get our power back sometime soon, because it’s really becoming a nuisance.
Other than that, I’ve been trying to cope with the whole situation. This involves driving in the torrential rain. It’s interesting. Avoiding the potholes on the road, the landslides, the downed trees. It’s just an adventure.
The scary part is that this isn’t an El Nino year. I’m just curious as to what would happen if it were. Perhaps most of LA would fall into the ocean. Heh. Perhaps I would have beachside property. Heheheh.
Anyhow that’s it.
When I got home last night, the power was out. As of this 4 pm, it was still out. So I came over to lotusblossom‘s to watch the Chargers game. Bleh.
To boot, my back has been killing me all day (almost to the point of immobility), it’s been raining like no tomorrow and the shit in the freezer is starting to melt. So I’m a little apprehensive about going home.
That’s it. I hate everything right now.
I’m flying solo here at work now. On Tuesday and Wednesday I did my best to pick the old supervisor’s brain. There are some loose ends I didn’t pick up, but it’s not that hard to figure things out. The general theory holds form regardless where you go, so it’s not too bad. Plus my staff are also new so they don’t know any better. Heheheh.
But that’s about it. I’m just trying to do well here and avoid being drenched by the rain. This is becoming an almost impossibility here in LA. I just can’t wait for it to get to 85 degrees again. Hopefully we get a nice heat wave this month. I’ll keep my fingers crossed.
Those who know me know that I LOVE gossip. I love rumors and speculation. It just gets my butthole moist.
So here’s a new rumor. It looks like Six Apart is going to buy this blogging utility.
Interesting.
I survived my first day of work. Let me tell you why it rocks.
* I have my own office!!!!!
* I have a staff of 3, and I’m going to hire one more person.
* I’m generally left alone to make sure everything is taken care of.
* It’s only 10 minutes away from my house.
* I took a pay raise.
I don’t know what else to say. I haven’t been this happy about work in a very long time. Thanks to all who wished me luck.
For the last 11 days, I have not gone into a place called “work”. My first worry was that I would get sick. When my stress levels decrease, so does my immune system. For example, on my birthday in 2002 when I took a week off of work. I was planning to go to SF for my birthday but ended up getting the flu instead. I guess I’m a workaholic in the truest sense.
But this time around it didn’t happen. I guess I have to thank the impromtu Vegas trip. That and the pointless trip to Big Bear my mom wanted to do. And driving to my mom’s and back so many times.
Anyhow enough of this drivel. Today I start my new job at Point 360, a post production company for the movies. It’s out in Burbank which means no more hellish commutes! I’m still supervising payables, but I have a larger staff with less volume. Oh, and not to mention, a larger salary.
I don’t go in until 10, but I decided to get up at a normal time. So I’ll just waste my time doing the blog thing. G’day.
The last couple of days my back has been a little sore from purchasing a desk, carrying it up a flight of stairs to my apartment and constructing it. Also cleaning my entire house probably didn’t help things any either. Being a semi-tall person, I tend to have to hunch over a little to Swiffer, scrub, etc. But I did something bad today.
Over at my uncle’s house, I decided it would be a good thing to wrestle with my cousin. Mind you he is just a couple of inches shorter than me but outweighs me by about thirty pounds. I did manage to get him on the floor, but not until he piggy backed me across the living room. So right now I’m a little hunched over with pain. Oh well. At least I had some good traditional Korean rice dumpling soup to ring in the New Year.
I’m contemplating what to do tonight since I do want liquor in my system. Perhaps I’ll just go home, put in a DVD and drink myself into a stupor of some sort. *shrugs* Something will come to me I’m sure.
