As I was pulling up to my house after work, I saw Laura talking with our landlord. Laura is the lady who lived near us during our Los Feliz days. She’s a half Filipino, half Italian lady in her 60s who is a little crazy but has a nice heart. As new people started streaming into the neighborhood, they looked at her as a crazy old witch. Literally! It’s a shame because she’s just a lonely lady (never married) who wants some company. But what really surprised me about her appearance is that she doesn’t have a car. So she rode the bus and walked up the hill to see us! Well Nesta mostly. Her cat Tricky is Nesta’s sister. Anyhow, it was just nice seeing her, and I hope she visits more often. The only bad part is she likes to dwell on the dead cats, so we were talking about Mambo quite a bit. I had to steer the conversation towards Squee once it got uncomfortable for me.
