I Need a Break

I have a headache right now from work. Actually it isn’t really related to my actual workload; it’s a personnel issue. I ended up shutting my door all morning, cussing a little bit and trying to figure out how I’m going to deal with shit. Yesterday, I bought:
  • The latest issue of Mojo Magazine which has great articles on Joy Division, New Order, Antony & the Johnsons and more. The “post-punk” CD that comes with the issue is also pretty decent despite the lack of inclusion of certain artists.
  • A new Asian culture magazine called Theme. There’s a good article about the punk scene in Seoul. I was also amazed at how much coverage they gave to us half-breeds.
  • McSweeney’s Quarterly Concern: Issue 13. It’s their comic strip issue. I don’t know what it is about them, but I think I’m in love.
Also yesterday, Roomie and I met some of her friends at Cobras & Matadors on Hollywood Blvd in my neck of the woods. It’s a Spanish tapas place that’s moderately priced. The food overall is pretty good with a notable exception of the grains. The paella was overcooked and the lentels tasted burnt. But for $30/person, it was pretty nice considering how much we ordered. Later on, I will have pictures from my trip to the Antelope Valley Poppy Preserve yesterday. It was totally worth waking up at 3:30am. Eh. That’s the sound of the last bit of blogging motivation I have dissipating into thin air (sorta like bad gas).
