Fuck the BCS

Every year at this time, college football teams jockey about to see who will play for a BCS Bowl (Rose, Orange, Fiesta or Sugar Bowl). To play in one of these means millions of dollars to the school and conference. So Cal ended up ranked #5 in the BCS rankings (behind USC, Oklahoma, Auburn and Texas) yet are not in one of these prestigious Bowls in favor of #13 Michigan and #21 Pittsburgh. Basically Cal got fucked. The solution is simple: an 8 team playoffs at the end of the college season. The major obstacles are college presidents saying it will interfere with the athlete’s academics (which is a crock of shit) and the Bowl games’ greed for the money. If there is a playoff system, the Bowls lose their prestige and thus their money. So fuck the NCAA, fuck the BCS. Instead I present to you a great picture of Whitman:
