I’m Wet!!!
I really like where I live now. Take this for instance. My new city councilmember is Eric Garcetti. He is known for being a hands-on type of person. However it seems that the issue of the Sunset-Silverlake junction bridge was ignored for a period of time. Will Campbell @ blogging.la posted to complain about it, and in a matter of hours both Josh Kamensky (Communications Deputy of Garcetti) and Garcetti himself posted a comment apologizing for the delay of response and a letter addressing the problem and solutions.
The bad part about where I live: the traffic during the rain. I left work at 4:30 and travelled approximately 27 miles in 90 minutes. It looks like it’s going to be worse today since heavy rain is expected. Don’t get me wrong. I like the rain, but on two conditions: that I’m prepared for it and I’m not making a commute. Other than that, it’s like an enema for the city. But I’m finding the older I get, the less tolerance I have for it. (Corollary: The older I get, the more “city” I become.)
Anyhow all of this means that I’m going to Trader Joes during my lunch break to do my shopping. Cuz when I get home, there ain’t no way I want to leave.
On a completely unrelated note, I got an invitation to take the Jeopardy! test next month. I know mcgee did it once. Was it really difficult? Anyhow, I probably won’t do too much preparation for it. I’ll just hone up on my Shakespeare and opera knowledge since it’s sorely lacking. Whatever.
And since I didn’t post yeserday since I was feeling a bit ill, here’s a nutshell of it: Saw Team America which was mediocre; met a guy who thinks he’s straight and trash-talked him with Roommate v3.0; went shopping with lotusblossom but only bought books from Skylight.
That’s it. I hope everyone has fun in the rain.
