El Fin de Semana

Ah the weekend. First of all, I’m an idiot. I went to my mom’s Saturday and ended up leaving my check card there. Stupid! Of course I don’t notice this until I need to buy gas and cigarettes once I got home. So thanks to lotusblossom and saltyseas for being more than generous this weekend. I really do owe them one. Or two. Probably three. Last night was really the only time I went out. saltyseas‘s friend was stuck at the W Hotel in Westwood, so we saved her from the pit that is the Westside. We ended up getting some good Southern Indian food in our neck of the woods and drinks @ the Parlour. Oooh! And I can’t forget the ONLY place worth going to in Westwood: Diddy Riese! Yummy cheap ice cream sandwiches!!!!!! Oh. And how can I forget the Dodgers’ game Saturday night? Jose Lima was electrifying. To pitch a five-hit complete game shut-out was most of the amazing things I’ve ever seen. Admittedly, lotusblossom and I kept on yelling during the seventh inning and on, “He’s still pitching?!!!!” But to see the final out of the game made the anxiety worth it. What a fucking game. Too bad they did the typical Dodger thing and fucked up last night. Oh well. They went much further than anyone expected this year. One of the things I’ve had to adjust to at my new place is being the caretaker for five cats. This is the first time I’ve ever been responsible for pets. I mean I did have two chihuahuas in Lousiana for about six months, but my mom took care of those for the most part. And goldfish don’t count as pets. It’s weird when I toss and turn at night and feel my movements impeded by a cat. I’m coming on my first month here and have pretty much adjusted. What surprises me the most is that I haven’t had an allergic reaction to the cats. I usually start sneezing up a storm and have bloodshot itchy eyes, but there has been practically no reaction whatsoever. Pretty cool if I do say so. That’s it for now.
