I Luv the Xiu Xiu OH!

Xiu Xiu last night was a lot of fun. They played “I Broke Up” second on the set. I don’t care what anyone says, but to hear Jamie scream out, “THIS IS THE WORST VACATION EVER! I’M GOING TO CUT OPEN YOUR FOREHEAD WITH A ROOFING SHINGLE. OH!!!!!!,” will always send shivers down my spine. They had technical problems with the drum machine, but once that was sort of dealt with the show was good. I was pretty surprised the show sold out. I knew there were people who liked Xiu Xiu, but wow. And the fucking room was hotter than all hell. I was definitely broiling a bit. It looked like I had taken a bath by the time I got out of there. Gross! I had a couple of amusing conversations with kids who were first-timers to the Smell. “Is it safe to park around here?” Heheheh. Oh. Jamie Stewart is much shorter than I imagined. Still fucking cute, but short. Eh.
