Funny Thing

dingo727 excerpted my post yesterday about the military and let people on his friends list respond to it. It seemed unanimous that I let my emotions get the better of me, that I was being melodramatic. I thought I was being fairly level-headed. If any of them actually read what I was going to post, there would be a collective pop of heads exploding. One person did say that he hoped God would have mercy on my soul since many humans won’t. Well since I’m not killing anyone at this moment, I suppose there is nothing to have mercy for. *rolls eyes* Another person went further and commented to my original post. I could tell he wanted to start something, but he was very respectful. (Actually he’s the younger brother of someone I went to high school with. Funny that.) So if anyone from dingo727‘s post happen to read this, let it be known I’m proud to be an American. I know I have the privelege to say this shit that most people in this world don’t. But if we take one step down and silence ourselves, our freedom of speech and other rights “guaranteed” to us by the Constitution will slip away. It’s already been erode thanks to the consolidation of the media thanks to the lax FCC rules. I was being inflammatory because I am a fucking loud obnoxious person. I truly believe everything I say. The point of the military is to KILL people. I do see the need for a military, but when it takes up the majority of the budget in lieu of school funding and universal health care there is something wrong. President Eisenhower warned us about the military-industrial complex, and we have ignored it. Sorry. I didn’t mean this to be another pointless meandering rant. I was actually going to post about how amused I was to read all of the responses. Heh.
