I’m reading the reviews of Coachella from OC Weekly and LA Weekly. Apparently my assumption was correct: the only reason to go was to see the Pixies. It looks like they put on a timeless performance there. Now the question is whether paying $60 and braving a day in 100+degree heat is worth seeing an hour of the Pixies. For some people that would be a yes. For me, no. I barely have the motivation to pay $20 to see an act like Blonde Redhead play in Hollywood. Anyhow, I’m currently downloading the new Sonic Youth album. I’ve only listened to “Unmade Bed”, and it’s all right. I don’t think one can say it’s the return of Sonic Youth to their hey-day. *shrugs* Of course I’ll buy it because… Well I have every other “proper” album they’ve done.
