Dude. Like Total Recall! Pshaw!

So maybe the Republicans in this state are onto something. Now before you start rubbing your eyes, listen to this. In the Washington Post, Howard Kurtz writes in the article “An Intimate Run for Governor”,

“It doesn’t get much better than this. The only bad news is for the Democratic ’04 candidates. Kerry, Dean, Lieberman et al. are going to be overshadowed by the Left Coast looniness because the national press will cover it like a presidential campaign. So many reporters are already flying to California that their spending alone could start bringing down the deficit.”

Whatever. It’s just a thought. Actually now that I think about it, I will recant my first statement. The Republicans in this state have no foresight whatsoever. Shit. If their leading candidate is a convincted car thief (and alleged arsonist), they’re in pretty deep shit. Eh? For people in other states, I’m sorry that I’m harping on this. I just find this mess we’re in hopelessly fascinating.
