Ok kiddos. I’ve not been posting lately. This is mostly a test to see how long I can go without posting. From what it looks like, four days. Pfft.
Nothing big really happened, but last night a strange occurrence occurred (I’ve always wanted to use that word combo, but always wussed out in the end becuz it sounded stupid, but fuckit). I went with Madd to the Virgin Megastore in Hollywood. When we pulled up in the parking lot, we noticed a Porsche pull in on the other side of us, and this frumpy-looking short blonde chick steps out. The first words out of Madd’s mouth were, “What’s that bitch doing with that car.” Once we get to the elevator, Blondie was fumbling around with her discman; it looked like she was ready to work out at the Crunch gym.
In the elevator, I notice her surreptitiously eyeing us as if she was paranoid. I think nothing of it; I’m just standing waiting for the elevator to stop. All of a sudden, in the most gravelly voice I’ve heard in years, Blondie tells Madd timidly, “That’s a really nice jacket”. Instantly our heads swing to her, and in an instant it all makes sense. Blondie was Renee Zellweger.
It made me realize how much it sucks to be a celebrity. They have to constantly live in fear of people who go, “OH MY GAWD IT’S so-and-so! I LOVE YOU! CAN I HAVE YOUR AUTOGRAPH? OH MY GAWD! CAN I TAKE YOUR PICTURE? AAAAAAHHHHH!” Especially if the celeb is in a frumpy workout outfit and shoddy tennis shoes, it could be scary. I just don’t understand why people make such a big deal over celebs. They’re not all that special, and most of them don’t want to be treated as such. It just makes me glad that I’m not one of them. Imagine the incriminating photos. Uy.
The conversation itself wasn’t all that eventful. But towards the end she felt more relaxed around us since Madd and I tend to have the we-don’t-give-a-shit-who-you-are attitude. Like I said, it sucks to have to be that paranoid around people. I’m just surprised more stars don’t go berserk.
It’s almost the three-day weekend and my bootie is starting to shake. What are you SB folks doing? Should I come up?
