Siouxsie

Everyone loves Siouxsie right?

This is taken from Nocturne, the live album released in 1984 just before Hyaena came out. It captures the energy and beauty of the music. The album starts with the violent “The Rite of Spring” by Stravinsky and perfectly segues into “Israel”. From then it just steamrolls until it ends with the final encore “Voodoo Dolly”, one the darkest and most evil songs ever written.

As for “Spellbound”, it is my favorite Siouxsie songs of all time. It’s very dancy, very energetic and absolutely sublime. I have listened to this song on repeat for hours once, and I’m still not sick of it.

Although they released Seven Year Itch a couple of years ago, it pales in comparison. Siouxsie just doesn’t have the vocal chops after all those years of boozing and smoking. And let’s face it, you can’t give out the same energy levels when you’re pushing fifty as you can when you’re twenty.
